Our materials

At GOS, we strive to use recycled and recovered materials whenever possible. We believe in giving second chances, including to textiles that still have many more adventures to live.

At the same time, we know that a good dog product has to be strong, comfortable, and able to withstand anything. That's why we combine recycled materials with high-resistance ones, designed to last for years, not months. If it can withstand pulling, mud, mountains, and city life, then it's sustainable.

Because for us, sustainability is about designing things that you don't have to replace so easily.
And to make use of what already exists.

That's how we see it.

RPET ROPE

RPET Dog Leashes

Most of our leashes are made from recycled polyester (RPET), which comes from recovered plastic bottles.
Instead of ending up in landfills or the sea, that plastic is transformed into a resistant, lightweight fiber that is very pleasant to the touch.

  • Every meter of RPET rope helps reduce plastic waste and gives a new purpose to existing materials.
  • The braided structure of the rope allows for a huge load capacity, perfect for medium and large dogs that pull, brake, jump and get really excited during the walk.
  • They don't absorb water, dry quickly, and don't harden, making them ideal for the beach, rain, mountains, or any improvised plan.
  • All our ropes are designed to be disassembled and separated at the end of their useful life, facilitating more efficient recycling and the reuse of each part. Because sustainability isn't just about how things start, but also how they end.

However, not all of our leashes can be 100% RPET… yet.
In some sizes or colors, the availability of recycled material is limited. Even so, we have a clear goal: With GOS's growth and increased orders, we will be able to manufacture more 100% recycled colors and sizes. We want our entire CORE line to be, in the future, completely RPET.

Tire innertube

Tire innertube

Innertubes are one of our favorite materials. We use them in our harness collection, which we'll be launching soon.

  • They have very high tensile strength .
  • They are waterproof and do not absorb odors, moisture or dirt.
  • They are easy to clean.
  • Each wheel is inspected, cleaned, and conditioned before becoming part of a GOS harness.
  • In addition to their performance, inner tubes allow for waste reduction: they are a material that would normally end up in landfills, and which here can continue to function for much longer.
